Status Curlers

Well Blackpool is always full of surprises and great photo ops and yesterday was no different than any other Saturday…pink bikes, wall art, old signs, Stags & Hens everywhere and then I saw these two lovely ladies dressed up made up and curled up too! Abandoned Pink

The chances of finding a pink plastic tricycle left abandoned in front of a pink wall are remote but find one I did on the backstreets of the backside of Blackpool. Once again the town surprises me with it’s treasures or maybe it’s just me that sees art in the everyday.

Waylaid by glass blocks

The Telephone Exchange

Love this dated vintage window design of the Blackpool Telephone Exchange on Edward St.I remember when I first saw them…well noticed them really, early 70s I think…I was convinced the decoration was made up of small wooden blocks and had to go and run my hands over them to realise that they are actually made

Lower prom steps

A simple elegant design that I really love, no place better to sit in the summer with a bag of salty chips than on these steps. Maybe because they remind me of a Roman amphitheater… a place for viewing or maybe just because I can always manage to get another shot of another unsuspecting member

The car-park on Leopold Grove at the side/back of the winter gardens.. depending on which entrance you use.. has recently been demolished and of course I wandered down to see what I could see..nothing much to see..lots of big angry machinery and tons of twisted metal and dusty cement, bricks and rubble.. Wandering around Blackpool town centre again I came across these fabulous retro tiles covering the wall of a shop.
