JD2 in Blackpool

Just a few of the hundreds of images of the thousands of fans from yesterday’s Judgement Day 2 in Blackpool.

Status Curlers

Well Blackpool is always full of surprises and great photo ops and yesterday was no different than any other Saturday…pink bikes, wall art, old signs, Stags & Hens everywhere and then I saw these two lovely ladies dressed up made up and curled up too! The Scouse ‘Fashion Statement’ of going out with your hairContinue reading “Status Curlers”

Abandoned Pink

The chances of finding a pink plastic tricycle left abandoned in front of a pink wall are remote but find one I did on the backstreets of the backside of Blackpool. Once again the town surprises me with it’s treasures or maybe it’s just me that sees art in the everyday.

Waylaid by glass blocks

On my way to the launch of the Preston Pride of Place Project yesterday I was once again distracted by a window and once again the window was made up of glass-blocks.. now have no idea why these windows appeal to me so much but I really do like them and the older the better…thisContinue reading “Waylaid by glass blocks”

The Telephone Exchange

Love this dated vintage window design of the Blackpool Telephone Exchange on Edward St.I remember when I first saw them…well noticed them really, early 70s I think…I was convinced the decoration was made up of small wooden blocks and had to go and run my hands over them to realise that they are actually madeContinue reading “The Telephone Exchange”

Lower prom steps

A simple elegant design that I really love, no place better to sit in the summer with a bag of salty chips than on these steps. Maybe because they remind me of a Roman amphitheater… a place for viewing or maybe just because I can always manage to get another shot of another unsuspecting memberContinue reading “Lower prom steps”

Alarm Bell

The car-park on Leopold Grove at the side/back of the winter gardens.. depending on which entrance you use.. has recently been demolished and of course I wandered down to see what I could see..nothing much to see..lots of big angry machinery and tons of twisted metal and dusty cement, bricks and rubble.. I walked outsideContinue reading “Alarm Bell”

Retro tiles on Topping St

Wandering around Blackpool town centre again I came across these fabulous retro tiles covering the wall of a shop. The rusting battered air vent added to the quirkiness of the decor making the shop on Topping St a small work of art for my pleasure. Imagine having these tiles covering just one wall in theContinue reading “Retro tiles on Topping St”

set up

Saw this shattered bus stop window and knew immediately I had to do something with it..and so after some umming and ahing I tried to get the shot from inside the shelter..this wasn’t easy because there were people in the shelter waiting for the bus to open the doors and let them on. Well IContinue reading “set up”
