On public transport again this morning and on the way to Blackpool we got stuck in traffic ..as I sat sorting through the ideas and plans in my mind I looked out the window and saw something that I thought could work as an image…quickly asking the driver if I could get off as we weren’t going anywhere fast I made my way back to search for the offending item and find it I did! and take about 15 images from various sides and positions I did…very happy with all of them…don’t know why I like it but I do, the rusting red suspension fork and the crooked metal wheel frame had me practically squealing in delight!!P1300033

Black & Lights

Heard the news about storm Barney yesterday and warnings of flooding, falling trees and the advice to stay indoors whenever possible. .. but had to go to Blackpool anyway so off I went in search of some stormy images on the prom, however the wind really was far too strong and after battling with camera straps coat fastenings and my hair, which is wild and woolly at the best of times, I gave up and sort of creeping from one shop doorway to another and clinging to walls I made my way to see the talented Robin Ross at The Old Rock Factory . After a couple of hours chatting about the arts and putting the world to rights I set off home and was blown about some more and got drenched by the driving rain but the bus finally arrived….P1290898aaaasadly not a doubledecker this time so after some thought and determined to capture some sort of image I decided to kneel on the back seat between some school kids who looked at me as if I was mad.. sniggering and giggling until I showed them what I was trying to capture.

P1290904They were, in the end, suitably impressed with the images and the bus carried on being banged about lurching from side to side ..battered and buffered by the strong winds with a group of giggling school kids and a mad old bird on the back seats.P1290888

steamy windows

Was in Blackpool on Monday for a meeting about a future exhibition at The Grundy Art Gallery in Blackpool, took my faithful Lumix with me hoping to get pics of something somewhere but when I came out the heavens opened and any thoughts I had of capturing people on the streets quickly vanished. P1290703a I did manage to capture two unsuspecting individuals as they ran for cover and I ran for the bus…. it was torrentialP1290706aaabw
When the double decker bus eventually arrived a long line of very wet grumpy people piled on and quickly filled the downstairs leaving me to trail a river of wet dripping from boots trousers and jacket and go to the top deck!..Ah but…the best thing was upstairs was empty and the closed windows were all wet and steamy and I managed to get a picture of my favorite tower before the bus left the stop..P1290754
….it didn’t take long till we started speeding along and so to avoid my lens banging on the window and the stares of other passengers as the bus filled I dried my camera and took out my phone instead.. I only managed to get one half decent shot ’cause had to keep wiping the window and then someone sat next to me so any further muttering under my breath and wonky captures on my Samsung were halted…Any weather is good weather for photo ops!

missed it!

Ventured out in the fog last night..I say last night it was only 7:30 but pitch black and foggy so felt like the middle of the night…anyway off I set to see what I could or couldn’t see and had an adventurous time stumbling around on the green trying so hard to get a shot of the windmill that didn’t have over exposed lights… harder than I thought this night-time fog photography! So after a few lucky shots and more stumbling I thought I’d get the bus home…its not far but it was dark and foggy I was cold and the bus shelter looked so inviting. I stood…and stood then stood some more, then as the bus was taking forever I thought I’d have a go at capturing the shop front opposite and while I was checking camera settings and messing aboutP1290322 the bus came and flew straight past…I missed the bus, walked home but I like the image I captured!
